Hello & welcome, I’m Layla
I’m an Irish writer and tender to many things, fuelled by mucky walks, good coffee & early mornings to myself.Â
I’m here to write about how it feels to write, (m)other and hold on this beautiful, tattered planet right now.
I write from a real, raw, lived place and share through weekly crafted written posts like this, seasonal live circles, creative co-working sessions and my podcast.Â
I’ve written a memoir about my unruly body, about longing, belonging and coming home that has recently found itself an agent and will be going out on submission soon.
𖥸 I’m 45 and I’m also here to write about what it feels like to be in this body of mine.
𖥸 I’m here to write about desire. I’m here to write about longing. I’m here to write about being seen.
𖥸 I write about between-spaces, thin places & little labours.
𖥸 I write to explore how I feel. I write to see if anyone else feels that way, too.
Would you like to explore with me quietly radical ways we can be in relationship with our own bodies, with each other and with this planet we call home?
Here’s what some readers have said about my work:
Layla’s writing is raw, vulnerable, and inviting. It feels familiar to roam in the landscape her words conjure up and the more I read, the more at home I feel with myself."
"I absolutely love your energy, Layla, and feel such congruence in our work, words and worlds."

&A little more about me ::
I live in rural Co. Wicklow, Ireland with my three children & my husband (an ex-rock n’roll musician, turned composer and breath worker). I live on land I fall in love with more each day, edged by a stream and held by ancient oaks and jaunty hazel.
I also work as a Five Element Acupuncturist – you can find out more here.
* I take 4-8 paid weeks off writing the publication each year.
