"Layla’s writing is raw, vulnerable, and inviting. It feels familiar to roam in the landscape her words conjure up and the more I read, the more at home I feel with myself."

Hi everyone,
Tomorrow we will gather for the first of our May Sitting in the Dark sessions.
I anticipate that here will be a different energy to these sessions and I’m interested to see where that leads us all. In December and February we were really sitting in the dark belly of the year, wrapped in blankets, candles lit, our faces in shadow, the world outside still wrapped in darkness as we wrote.
These May sessions will be brighter affairs, the sun will have risen before us. I’m interested to see what that does to our writing and to the energy of our gatherings.
My intention is still to keep the space a quiet one, keep our liminal dream-world energy with us as we write.
We start at 6:00 am UK / Ireland time (you can work out your time zone HERE) with a short 2-3 minute meditation, and then I’ll read you a short quote to take with you into your hour of writing. We write together until 6:55 am, when I call us all back to share one or two words in the chat of what came up or how the hour felt for us all.
I’ll be in my pyjamas, hair unbrushed, I’d invite you all to come as you are, too.

This month we will gather for four sessions with this structure, and then the final fifth session will be an opportunity to share anything that you wrote, or that came up for you during the month with the rest of the group.
So looking forward to this month together xxx
Here’s your Zoom link. Calls will not be recorded. I’ll send a reminder email every Thursday, but the same link will work for every call.
