Yes yes yes Layla, all of this! I am so glad you could take this time for yourself, listen to what you really needed and allow it in. I love the main stream vs the rock pools analogy ... Reminded me that I have all of series 2 of Bad Sisters to enjoy (with chocolate!) It's been beautiful to reconnect with you here and get to read all of your wonderful, wise words. Enjoy the next few weeks, excited to write a post for you and keep connecting next year xx

Thank you for sharing this with us dear Layla. I am so glad you managed the solo trip, and let it unfold as was needed. I love the sweeping temple/candles words, they feel so true of the past months/years in many ways. Your January schedule sounds so wonderful, I look forward to it already and hope it allows you to rest and write as you want and need. Much love for a soft and sparkly festive family time xx

Happy new year Lyndsay. I hope you’ve had a wonderful time, too. I’m really looking forward to the January schedule too, stay in that liminal slow space for a while longer :-) xxx

Oh and also I wrote a tiny story. And it has ended my year for me. It feels important to sign off and out and it seems you have too. Bravo. 💫

Oh you fabulously human human. Sweeping the temple floor itself sounds exhausting to me right now. I too am wrung out and my body is calling out to me to save it from myself.

I hope that in 2025, I have the peace and space to engage fully with you and your space. I only subscribe to two accounts. You and the Goddess. Suleika. Your retreat sounds like the perfect one. Bad Sisters and Good chocolate. That is surely enough.

Happy Christmas. 🎄

Oh Mel, I hope you’ve found even glimmers of rest and respite over the holidays. You don’t need to sweep the temple, there’s plenty of us sweeping. Just light a candle and rest. I wish for peace and space for you, too, in 2025 x

Oh, I absolutely loved this piece of writing, and all you shared from others too...the quote from Tilda Swinton is a gem to ponder, and went straight into my forever- book AND my notebook...

Subscribed, and looking forward to more inspiration in the new year.

Oh, we came to County Sligo last summer for a week, from our home by the sea, on the west coast of Wales 🧡

Hi Janey, thanks for joining us and for reading! I LOVE the idea of a forever book - I think I'll have to steal that, it is a lovely idea! And yes, I love those Tilda Swinton words, too.

Layla, I love this post and all your writing. I am so glad to be here. I missed this morning and last week due to work commitments but did my own version of it at a different time each of those days. Thank you for making space for us all. I finished today for two weeks and have never felt more in need of rest, and family time.

Wishing you and yours the very best for the next few weeks, thank you for this beautiful space you have created. X

ah, I love that you took the time in your own version - this is what it is about, really, isn't it - holding things lightly, being flexible :-) thank you for your kind words and I'm so looking forward to more gathering in 2025 x

I adore this… and think that those few days sound so nourishing and exactly what I crave too. Currently lying on the sofa reading this while my littlest naps and willing the chocolate that’s in the cupboard to somehow get into my hands without me having to move!! 😂 soak up the pause and I can’t wait to chat in the new year. Xx

I only joined your Substack on a whim because you had reduced the price a couple of months ago, but I’m so glad I did. There is such a warmth and reality that shines through your work, along with a very grounded sense of the sacred. I too am in a process of formation at the moment. We all have to balance so many things and it’s hard for people who don’t live like that to understand how hard it it to lay that burden down for a while. I know all your offerings in the months ahead will be more than worthy of my time, and I wish you peace and rest this Solstice-tide with all my grateful heart.

I'm so glad you are here Miranda! I've really enjoyed connecting with you - I read your note yesterday about making it to IKEA, it was so powerful, those hurdles we conquer, the quiet things we achieve and how we need to mark them.

I will sit with the words 'a grounded sense of the sacred' - they resonated with me greatly.

May you be able to lay your burdens down for a little time at least in the coming weeks and I look forward to connecting more with you in the new year. Layla x

This morning's session was so lovely, Layla, and this post fills me right up. I am as ready as you are for rest – PROPER REST – and after the post I have scheduled for Sunday will be off until 12th Jan which feels utterly glorious. Wishing you and yours as good a time as at all possible this festive. Light and Dark. Both at once. Xx

YES, I think we actually need to cheer each other on into the rest, it can be so hard to take. DRINK it in my gorgeous friend, the light, the dark, it all xxx
