Gorgeous conversation, Layla. I have gone from knowing nothing at all about five elements acupuncture or Daoist theory to feeling that together you've both made sense of it all and more importantly piqued my interest in it. I am definitely NOT in balance right now (see this Sunday's upcoming post) and wonder whether this might be something to add to the toolkit...
What a fantastic conversation, thank you Layla. with the little I know about Chinese medicine, it has always seemed such a beautiful framework to understand ourselves, each other, the universe. I learned lots about five elements from this chat, I listened once then again and took some notes!!
I lay in the sunshine in the park and listened. Oh you are a natural broadcaster! I loved hearing your voice and equally your guest offered wisdom and insight into yes acupuncture and the five elements but equally how to love in harmony with nature, ourselves, other humans. I have fortnightly acupuncture with my guru of wellbeing and also Chinese herbs, qi gong and twina massage. It helps keep my cancer at bay. I know it. Thank you Layla. I loved this. 🩵🩵
ah Mel, thank you for this wonderful picture of you in the park!
I was really hoping the conversation would land as much about ourselves in the world as the specifics of acupuncture, so I'm glad you were able to take that from it too... and I'm also so glad you have your 'guru of wellbeing', supporting you and your body to keep the cancer at bay, that's wonderful. thanks again for listening, and commenting too, it means so much xx
This sounds wonderful, Layla, I will dive into it deeper this evening when I have the time to carefully listen to the entire episode. I'm already very intrigued, your paragraph on oneness and Gerad's quote alone gave me much to think about!
yes, that comment of his took awhile to land with me (probably didn't even really land as we talked tbh - but REALLY has given me food for thought since. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the whole conversation. L xx
Absolutely loved this conversation Layla. Appreciate the rich sharing from a therapeutic perspective for my work as a biodynamic CST, I will take so much from it. Thrilled to be joining you for The Element Sessions. Congratulations on this new strand of Beauty & Bone 💚

I find it endlessly fascinating, I'm certainly still very much a student 10 years in!
Let me know if you'd like me to help you find someone near you, I've a couple of colleagues in your hood. xox
