Hi friends,
It was DELICIOUS to join you all last Friday for an hour of creative practice in the not-so-dark-but-still-early-morning-light. Here’s what one participant shared with me after the hour :
"I'm so glad to have joined {the sitting in the dark sessions}. I spent the hour with tears running down my face as I wrote but definitely released something and feel a lot lighter now. It was my first time writing that early (it makes a lot of sense for me to do it, especially in the school holidays but I've been resistant) and I really liked it. You are a talented facilitator :) Look forward to being part of your community x"
We will gather again this Friday 9th 6-7am BST and for the rest of May. You’d be so welcome to join us. I’ve had some very sensible questions about the sessions coming through and so I thought I’d answer them here for you all, incase any of you have the same queries…
What if I can’t quite make it on time ?
Please do still join us. If you join in the first 10 minutes, you will join us mid-meditation, just take your time to get settled in. If you join later, we will be writing quietly, you can just join us. I’ll mute you so you don’t disturb.
I’m a bit intimidated - will everyone be working on their books?!
No! Well, sometimes I work on my memoir, but mostly I free-write in my journal for the hour. Sometimes I read. A lot of us stare into space for much of the time. Last Friday I did a writing prompt from another course I’m doing. I might knit one week … In short you can do whatever feels good to you. We are holding creative space for each other, that’s all. The only sharing you are invited to do is putting a word in the chat at the end of the hour. And that’s optional. (Note: The final week 5 there will be a space to share any words we’d like, again optional).
I missed the first session, can I still join ? / I can’t make all the sessions ?
Totally fine. Come when you can. Leave when you must. All good.
That’s it. Looking forward to seeing you all this Friday 6-7am BST. Check your time zone here.
Link below for paid subscribers (same link every week FYI), and if you’re feeling the call to join and upgrade to paid, there’s still lots of time to take part :)
