please bear with me
midterm is not facilitating the writing of masterpieces (or Substack posts)!
Last week I wrote about how an octopus helped me decide to have a hysterectomy, and about how I felt this visitation I had was a function of my right brain, helping me to come to terms with the surgery in a way that was meaningful to me. Lots of you were in touch about the post, and for that I am very grateful. It really means the world to me that the words I am writing are resonating with people, and that so many of you are offering your valuable time to read and comment on my posts. Thank you !
I had promised you a Part Two on the divided brain this Sunday - exploring the impact of a left-brain dominant society and the importance of where and how we choose to place our attention. It is a huge topic (i.e. WHY Western society is collapsing!) and one that is not, it turns out, well suited to being written about during the first week of midterm when I have had between three and seven children under my charge at all hours of the day and night! At the end of long days of swinging from zip lines, making parachutes for eggs and making So Many Snacks I just have not had the brain power to give this article the attention it deserves.
So please bear with me as I try to eek out the time in week two of midterm to write the words that have been fermenting in my brain but have not been able to find their way onto the page.
For now, I’ll leave you with a link to this article by
I read during the week that feels deeply connected to what I’ve been thinking about. I’d highly recommend taking a read of it - it explores how and where society as a whole is choosing, or perhaps more accurately is being lured, into placing it’s attention.Until soon,
From my madhouse, to yours,

Oh I hear you about the struggles of trying to write when children are around 24/7! I also read that piece by Ted Gioia, and it won't leave my thoughts as I struggle to put boundaries around my kids' screen time...
I can well imagine . Mibd you enjoy them as they grow up real fast girl 💋🌹😊💚🇮🇪🏳️🌈
