Welcome to the first of Beauty & Bone’s Conversations.
Raw, honest, true conversations with women who have
✺ opened my mind
✺ blown wide my heart
✺ pivoted how I see and navigate the world
I couldn't be more excited to share these Fireside Conversations with you.
Pull up a chair, warm your hands on a mug of something good, join us.
Our first conversation is with the wonderful Amy Taylor Kabbaz from the Mama Rising Movement. I recorded this interview with Amy on a wild and windy night about two years ago. It has taken me much longer than planned to share it with you, but it also feels like this is the perfect time and the perfect home for it.
Listening back to our conversation, I am once again bowled over by the power of the insights that Amy has to share.
In this conversation we talk about ::
✺ Amy’s own story of realising that she could no long manage to continue to be the same woman she was before having her children and how it took a near pregnancy loss for her to realise that she needed to begin to let go of much she had held on to for so long
✺ How she searched for and did not find an explanation for the massive changes she felt she was going through as a mother
Amy also shares some incredible insights in to ::
✺ Why it is that so many of us find it so hard to slow down and let go of who we were before giving birth
✺ What self-silencing is and why it has been one of the greatest turning points of her own understanding of matrescence
✺ What the spiritual nature of matrescence is and how it is this aspect of mothering that has the potential to, quite literally, change the world.
